In the field, you often need to run SRT Mini Server on someone else's or temporary hardware: a laptop on a business trip, an on-site PC, a "spare" computer in a studio. The classic approach — install the software, transfer the license, go through activation and deactivation when changing machines.
With the USB dongle, the approach changes: you use the portable version of SRT Mini Server in the USB Dongle format. Just insert the drive into the PC and run SRT Mini Server directly from the flash drive — this way, your workspace is ready to use in seconds without needing to install the program.
How it works
- Insert the USB dongle into your computer.
- Run SRT Mini Server from the drive (executable files and libraries are already on the flash drive).
- If a saved configuration file is present on the flash drive, it is automatically picked up.
- You can prepare the config in advance or save it back to the flash drive later — the drive also serves as a portable settings storage: you travel with the same profile across machines.
- Logs are written to the flash drive — convenient for on-site analysis: the traces of work remain right where the server was run.
